I am Ginny Goodbar, the Director Quilting in the Desert. I am a contemporary quilter with 30 years of quilting experience. Color, texture and creativity catch my eye I have taken and taught many quilting classes. To me, there is nothing better than to spend a day in a classroom with other quilters.
My life path has taken many turns. I started taking quilting classes when I lived in Billings Montana. My family moved to Scottsdale in 1997. I sought out quilters right away and joined the Arizona Quilter’s Guild and a local guild.. I taught classes at the Quilted Apple and later the Bernina Connection. At one point on my journey, I was part owner of Textures Gallery and Studio in Scottsdale. My exposure to art, artists, marketing, public relations and a wide variety of interesting customers contributed to an incredible learning experience.
When I married Lyn Goodbar, I stepped away from the gallery business. Lyn is a retired pipe fitter and has lived all of his life in the Bay area of California. His newest job is to be the Registrar for QCIP and QID. He takes care of your registrations, does the accounting and hands out candy! If you have a question about your registration or your remaining balance, Mr. Goodbar has the answer.
To be the Director of Quilting in the Desert is my “dream job.” I am so very proud and excited to be able to carry on this great tradition of bringing you gifted teachers and a creative atmosphere.
We look forward to meeting and getting to know you at Camp!
